Orem, Utah-based web analytics firm Omniture announced Wednesday afternoon that it has completed its buy of the business assets of Mercado, a provider of search and merchandising software. Omniture had announced earlier in October that it would pay $6.5M for certain assets of Mercado. According to Omniture, the acquisition included technology and related intellectual property, customer and partner agreements, and certain operational assets. Omniture is also hiring on a number of "key personnel" from Mercado. Exact number of employees added by Omniture was not disclosed however the firm said it added personnel in engineering, operations, support, consulting and sales.
