Omniture Buys Search Firm's Assets
Orem, Utah-based web analytics provider Omniture said late monday that it has acquired certain assets of Mercado, a provider of search and merchandising software. Omniture said it would pay $6.5M in cash and assumption of certain related operating liabilities in the deal, which covers certain intellectual property and business assets of Mercado. According to Omniture, the additional technology and expertise gained from the buy will expand its solutions for site search and merchandising, particularly in the retail sector. Omniture said that the transaction is subject to governmental approvals in Israel, where Mercado has operations. The transaction is not expected to have a material impact on Omniture's 2008 operating results.
