Colorado State Gets $44.5M In Software From Siemens
Fort Collins-based Colorado State University reports this morning that it has snagged a $44.5M, in-kind software donation from Siemens, as part of an effort to design hybrid and electric vehicles. The university said that Siemens has offerred up 40 Siemens PLM Software licenses to the school, as part of a hybrid/electric vehicle design competition called EcoCAR2. The competition pits student teams in an effort to build a hybrid electric Chevrolet Malibu from General Motors. The university said the donation is the largest software grant it has ever received.
