Webroot Acquired By Carbonite For $618.5M
Broomfield, Colorado-based cybersecurity software developer Webroot has been acquired by Boston-based data protection and backup software developer Carbonite, in a deal worth approximately $618.5M in cash, according to the two companies. According to Carbonite, Webroot had fiscal 2018 year revenues of approximately $215M. Carbonite said the deal, funded with existing cash on hand and a new credit facility, will be immediately accretive on its earnings andc ash flow basis. Privately held Webroot was founded in 1997 and was led by CEO Mike Potts.
