Videogame Maker THQ Cuts Employees In Phoenix
THQ, a developer of video games which has operations in Phoenix, Arizona, said late Tuesday evening that it is cutting a development team in Phoenix, as part of a larger "strategic alignment" at the company. The firm did not say how many individuals were cut in Phoenix, but did say about 200 employees were affected by two studio shutdowns in Australia as well as the development cuts in Phoenix. The firm said it continues to maintain a Quality Assurance team in Phoenix. The moves are a part of an effort by the company to shift away from licensed kids titles and movie-related entertainment titles.
