First Solar Wins Southern California Utility
Tempe, Arizona-based First Solar has signed another deal with an electric utility, this time for a 250 megawatt plant for Southern California Edison. According to Southern California Edision (SCE), it has signed a power purchase agreement with First Solar for 250 MW of electricity to be generated from 2,500 acres of land near Primm, Nevada. The Silver State South project is being developed by First Solar, and is expected to start generating electricity as early as 2014. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
