Frederick, Colorado-based UQM Technologies said today that the firm is in a collaboration with BorgWarner, where the two will work on electric powertrains for electric and hybrid-electric passenger automobiles. Financial details of the collaboration were not disclosed, however, the firms said they would integrate UQM's PowerPhase electric propulsion system with BorgWarner's 31-03 eGearDrive transmission. The product will go into California-based CODA Automotive's all-electric, front wheel drive five-passenger sedan. BorgWarner is a developer of vechile powertrains, and is based in Michigan.
