Salt Lake City-based Parvus Corporation, a developer of embedded computer systems, reported today that its on board computers are being used as part of a unmanned aerial vehicle designed by Aurora Flight Sciences. The firm said that its DuraCOR 820 rugged computing system is the basis for the Aurora Common Mission Computer (ACMC), which controls flight for Aurora's UAV. Aurora's UAV systems provide vertical take off and landing (VTOL). Parvus provides its hardware--which includes a low power mobile Pentium CEO, memory, military-grade power supplies, and the Linux operating system--to various military and aerospace customers.
