Parvus, the suppliers of ruggedized computing equipment for the military, aerospace, and homeland defense market, said today that it has won a $2.2M follow-on order for rugged Ethernet switches. The win came from a US prime contractor for the Department of Defense (DoD). Parvus said it could not provide further details on the win due to contract restrictions, but said deliveries will be made this year on the order. Parvus takes Cisco networking equipment--in this case, the Cisco 2955T-12 Ethernet switch--and adapts those into mil-spec packaging and electrical enhancements, so that those switches can be used in harsh and military environments.
