DigitalGlobe now moves one step closer to its planned launch of WorldView-2 from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., on October 6, 2009. WorldView-2, the third commercial remote-sensing satellite Ball Aerospace has built for DigitalGlobe, will provide high resolution satellite images for geographical information systems, from consumer-facing satellite imaging applications to oil and gas, telecommunications, GPS navigation and other applications.
