First Solar reported Wednesday that the firm has scored a win with what it said was the second largest commercial solar installation in Phoenix. According to First Solar, the firm will build a 222 kilowatt (DC) solar installation for National Bank of Arizona, across two carports. The win is the first commercial installation of First Solar's thin film modules in Phoenix. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. The project is being financed by SolarCity, which provides financing through power purchase agreements with customers. First Solar said the project will include 2,960 of its modules, and be installed on 24th St. in the Biltmore area of Phoenix. National Bank of Arizona has a large office building at 24th Street and E. Arizona Biltmore Circle, near the Arizona Biltmore Country Club.
