Level 3 Communications Inc., a provider of fiber optics-based telecommunications services, revealed Wednesday that it a key client has requested additional services from Level 3. The financial impact of the new business was not disclosed. Specifically, Level 3 said, it will expand its role as the primary IP services provider for Iformata LLC, a Web-based video conferencing firm. Level 3 explained that it will use its multiprotocol label-switching platform to deliver Iformata's high-bandwidth traffic via Internet protocol virtual private network. Level 3 is headquartered in Broomfield, Colo. Iformata is based in Dayton, Ohio.
