Footnote.com Launches Social Networking For The Deceased
Lindon, Utah-based Footnote.com, an online web site focused on historical information and records, launched a new feature Wednesday at the TechCrunch50 conference in San Francisco. According to the firm, it has added "Footnote Pages" where users can share stories, photos, and information about deceased family and friends. The site said it has created over 80 million pages on deceased people from the Social Security Death Index, the public records database maintained by the government of the deceased. The firm characterized the new feature as "Facebook for the Deceased."
