Southwest Windpower Raises $6.5M
Flagstaff, Arizona-based Southwest Windpower, a producer of small residential scale wind energy systems, has raised $6.5M in a Series B venture capital round. The round came from NGP Energy Technology Partners, and also included existing investors Rockport Capital partners, Altira, and CTTV Investments LLC. Southwest Windpower's residential wind generators are a grid-connected system for consumers to power their homes. The new capital will go towards new dealer channels, sales offices in Europe, plus efforts to influence domestic policy incentives.
