Salt Lake City, Utah-based Evans & Sutherland's CEO, James R. Oyler, has resigned, saying yesterday that he was leaving because the company's strategic focus has significantly changed. E&S, which recently sold its entire simulation business, including over 200 employees, to Rockwell Collins, and recently purchased a business in the laser projector business. The company has refocused on projectors for digital theater and planetariums. E&S said that David H. Bateman will assume the role as interim CEO. Bateman has been serving as the firm's VP of Business Operations.
