Novell has rolled out a newest version of its Linux distribution at CEBIT, introducing SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop, a new version of the Linux operating system targeted at business desktops. The new distribution, based on SUSE Linux 10, provides enterprise features such as enhanced power management, integrated desktop search, support for Microsoft Active Directory, connection to Microsoft Exchange, and includes OpenOffice.org 2.0, the open source office suite. Novell said that the new desktop focused Linux software will be available in summer of 2006, and will be available via subscription.
