ViaWest Signs Major Self Storage Chain

Denver-based colocation and managed services provider ViaWest reported today that it has signed up a large, self storage chain, Extra Space Storage, as a customer. ViaWest said it will provide data center and managed services for the production and disaster recovery operations of Extra Space Storage, which operates more than 1,000 self-storage properties across the U.S. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. ViaWest said the deal includes use of both its Denver data center for Extra Space's core IT and data platforms, as well as the use of ViaWest's Cottonwood facility in Salt Lake City for its disaster recovery operations.
