Sound Surgical Technologies Acquired By Solta Medical

Louisville, Colorado-based Sound Surgical has been acquired by Silicon Valley-based aesthetic medicine firm Solta Medical, in a deal worth up to $40M. Solta Medical said that it acquired Sound Surgical, a developer of ultra-sound based liposuction and body shaping devices, for $25.5M in its common stock, $5.0M in cash, plus up to $9.5M in contingent payments. Solta said Sound Surgical had revenues fo the year ending December 31, 2012, of approximately $23.0M.
