InPhase Hopes To Sell Patent Portfolio
Longmont, Colorado-based InPhase Technologies, the bankrupt developer of holographics storage products and technology, is looking to sell or license its patents, according to majority shareholder Signal Lake. Signal Lake said it has retained IP brokerate Drakes Bay Company LLC to sell or license the Inphase IP portfolio. InPhase entered Chapter 11 in October of 2011. Signal Lake said Inphase owns over 200 U.S. and foreign patents and applications, related to holographic digital storage media, drives, and systems. Apparently, InPhase had previously been able to license that technology to companies like Hitachi Maxell, Bayer Material Sciences, and Nichia.
