Advanced Energy Creates New Business Units

Fort Collins-based Advanced Energy Industries said today that it has created two new business units within the firm. According to the company, it has created new business units focused on Thin Films and Renewables, in a realignment of its business. The firm said that the Thin Films business unit will primarily serve OEM and end customers in the semiconductor, flat panel display, solar module and other capital equipment markets. The company's Renewables unit will focus on string, commercial and utility-scale solar projects and installations, selling primarily to distributors, engineering and construction contractors, developers, and utility companies. The Thin Films business will be headed by Yuval Wasserman, the Renewables business by Gregg Patterson, the former head of PV Powered.
