Ascent Solar Bolsters Manufacturing, Sales

Thornton, Colorado-based Ascent Solar Technologies, a developer of thin-film solar modules, has made two executive hires in the last two days. According to Ascent, it has named Zane Rakes as the firm's Vice President of Manufacturing Operations, and Robert "Bob" Johns as Vice President of Sales. Rakes was most recently at SCHOTT Solar, and also worked at Intel Corporation. Johns was most recently at Dow Corning, more recently in Dow's Specialty Chemicals and Advanced Technologies Ventures Business.
