Symplified Hires McCarthy as Worldwide Sales VP

Symplified Inc., a provider of hosted security and access management services, reported Monday that Ed McCarthy has joined the firm as vice president of worldwide sales. The Boulder, Colo.-based firm described McCarthy as a 20-year veteran of the data security and technology industry who most recently served as global sales director for Computer Associates' security practice. Symplified said McCarthy has also served in executive sales management roles for several startups, including Soaring Consulting, Fuzion Security and NetFenz Security. Symplified added that he has held technical positions with Cisco Systems and Fidelity Investments. Symplified is a privately funded company backed by Granite Ventures and Allegis Capital.
