Vericept Signs Circuit City

Denver-based data security software publisher Vericept Corp. announced Monday that big-box retailer Circuit City Stores Inc. will use Vericept's Data Loss Prevention platform to protect sensitive customer and corporate data and to ensure regulatory compliance. The financial impact of the deal was not reported. Vericept said Circuit City, which sells brand-name consumer electronics and related services, plans to deploy the entire Data Loss Prevention product line. Vericept explained that Circuit City handles a high volume of customer data and intellectual property that must be kept confidential and in compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards.
