MacDermid Sells Printing Division

Denver, Colorado-based MacDermid Inc., a provider of specialty chemicals and technical services, has sold its printing subsidiary, MacDermid ColorSpan, to HP. HP said this morning that it has signed an agreement with MacDermid Inc. to acquire the firm's Minnesota-based MacDermid ColorSpan unit, which manufacturers wide-format digital inkjet printers. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. MacDermid ColorSpan's hardware is used for inkjet printing display graphics and sign making, and use UV-curable inks. MacDermid Inc. employs over 2500, and was founded in 1922; MacDermid ColorSpan LLC was a wholly owned subsidiary of the firm.
