Optomec Deploys 3D Printing For Consumer Electronics
Albuquerque, New Mexico-based 3D printing technology provider Optomec says it has deployed its 3D printing systems, as part of a mass production effort by LITE-ON Mobile Mechanical SBG (LITE-ON). Optomec says its Aerosol Jet, additive manufacturing system is being used for printing 3D antenna patterns for LITE-ON's contract manufacturing customers. Those antennas are being printed onto smartphone and tablets, according to the company. Optomec is backed by GE Ventures and Autodesk, which made an investment in the company in December.
