HP Buys Utah's Logoworks

Palo Alto, California-based HP said Tuesday afternoon that the firm has acquired Lindon, Utah-based Arteis, which operates the online Logoworks logo and graphics design service. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. HP said that the acquisition is expected to close in the firm's third quarter. Arteis is funded by Benchmark Capital and Shasta Ventures, and provided small business with logo design services. Arteis also owns LogoMaker, a online web design application that allows customers to create their own business logos. HP said it plans to greatly expand and enhance the services.
