Nearmap Helps Power 3D Imaging, Modeling For Engineering Firm
South Jordan, Utah-based aerial imaging provider Nearmap reported today that it has scored a win with engineering firm HNTB, to power 3d imaging and models of projects for upcoming proposals. Financial details of the win were not announced. According to Nearmap, its aerial imagery is being used by HNTB to power something it calls "Reality as a Service (RaaS)" which creates accurate models of projects in the engineering company's pipeline. HNTB is using those lifelike, 3-D models to win business against its competitors. In particular, Nearmap's ability to provide slopes, footprint of buildings, and more is helping HNTB with its 3D modeling.
