SunShare Wins Community Solar Bid From Xcel Energy
Denver-based SunShare, which is developing "community solar" projects which taps into the local community to fund non-rooftop, "solar gardens", says it has won a competitive bid from Xcel Energy, to build six new "community solar gardens" totaling 12 MW. The company said those developments will serve more than 2,500 residential households in the Denver metro area. SunShare says it expects it will be installing those "solar gardens" in Jefferson County, Adams County, and Arapahoe County. SunShare says it already has more than 27 MW of installec "community solar gardens" in Colorado. David Amster-Olszewski is SunShare's founder and CEO.
