Ancestry has named a new CEO, saying late last week that it has named Margo Georgiadis as its new Chief Executive Officer. Georgiadis was most recently CEO of Mattel, and before that, was President, Americas, at Google. Ancestry said Georgiadis will succeed interim CEO Howard Hochhauser, who has been serving in the interim CEO spot since October of 2017; he will return to his post as CFO and COO when Georgiadis joins Ancestry on May 10th. Georgiadis will succeed Howard Hochhauser, who has served as interim CEO since October 2017 while the Board conducted a comprehensive six-month search for a permanent CEO. Hochhauser will return to his role as Ancestry's CFO and COO. Ancestry.com offers up an online family history and research site, which is paried with a consumer-focused, genomics service which lets users sequence their genes and find ancestors and other information. Ancestry's private equity owners are Silver Lake, GIC and Spectrum Equity.
