Galvanize announced on Monday that it has been awarded $1.3M, from the State of New York, to bring the company's programs to New York City and the rest of the state. According to Galvanize, the funds come through New York's Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) 2016 Awards, and will go towards its East Coast expansion. Galvanize offers up technical training in web development, data science, and other areas, through an existing network of campuses around the country. The company said it hopes to open up a location in New York City in 2017, as a result of the grant.
