CastAR, which develops augmented reality software, has snagged a team from the former Disney
Avalanche Software operation in Salt Lake City, and has set up a new studio in the location. CastAR disclosed on Thursday that it has hired on a number of developers who worked on the Disney Infinity games at Avalanche Software, which was shut down in May. Disney acquired Avalanche Software in 2005, but shut it down in May, when it said it
would be discontinuing Disney Infinity. The new Salt Lake City arm of CastAR will reportedly be headed by Disney vet Steve Parkis.
