Owlet Names Trio Of VPs
Provo, Utah-based Owlet Baby Care, the startup developing medical devices to track the breathing and heart rate of babies, has named a trio of VPs. Owlet said today that it has named Tom Bishop as vice president of operations, Danny Villarreal as vice president of business development and Chris Stroud as vice president of marketing. Bishop was previously at Skullcandy, Villarreal was founder at Zarbee's Inc. and Wink Naturals, and Stroud led strategic marketing consultancy FiveCentShine. Owlet has raised nearly $10M, including a $6M Series A funding last summer and $1.5M in a National Institutes of Health grant; the company's "smart sock" uses pulse oximetry techniques to keep a close eye on a baby's breathing and heart rate.
