In a blow to Albuquerque's local life sciences industry, DNAe, a UK-based developer of semiconductor-based DNA sequencing technology, said Friday that it is moving its entire operation in the city to California. DNAe's operations in Albuquerque are the result of its acquisition in January of NanoMR, which was incubated and spun out of the University of New Mexico. DNAe said it has offered relocation to the entire staff of NanoMR to San Diego, California, where the company hopes to increase the size of its workforce and ramp its commercial efforts. DNAe said it would continue to work with the University of New Mexico on future efforts.
