Ampt Finds $25M For Solar Power Technology
Fort Collins-based solar power technology developer Ampt said this morning that it has raised $25M in funding, split between a $20M, Series C funding round, and $5M in working capital. The startup said the funding was led by Bohemian Investments, and also included Doug Schatz. Ampt develops a product which optimizes the power coming out of photovoltaic panels, via DC-to-DC conversion. The company's hardware allows solar system designers to use longer runs of solar panels by boosting the DC voltage of the output of the panels--which reduces the number of components and cost of inverters required for solar systems. Ampt is led by Levent Gun.
