Salt Lake City, Utah-based Goal Zero, the developer of solar charging products for the outdoor and consumer markets, has been acquired by NRG Energy, the companies said this morning. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. According to energy giant NRG, it will use the buy to help it offer clean energy products to consumers around the country. NRG Energy said that Goal Zero currently employs around 100 people. NRG said it will combine product and service offerings, combining GOal Zero's portable solar products with its retail electricity and rooftop solar efforts. Goal Zero was founded by Robert Workman.
