Colorado Springs-based data backup software provider STORserver announced today that it has launched a new line of backup appliances, aimed at enterprise customers. STORserver said it has partnered with backup software provider CommVault to power its new backup appliance, and is using CommVault's Simpana 10 data and information management software as part of the product. Financial details of the deal were not announced. STORserver said the move is the first time it has offered upa backup product based on CommVault's software; the company's other products are based on IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM).
