Colorado Springs-based STORServer is targeting small and medium businesses with a new line of backup appliances based on IBM technology. The firm said today that its new line of STORServer EZ Backup Appliances provide both entry level and high-end scalable models targeted at SMBs. The appliances are pre-configured with hardware and software for backup, archive, and disaster recovery. The firm is tapping IBM for its software and IBM Tivoli storage manager, and also said that its product uses disk and tape storage from IBM, including IBM's TotalStorage TS3310 Tape Library. The line of EZ Backup Appliances is available through IBM resellers, with the entry level appliance starting at $5000.
