Ascent Solar Technologies, the developer of flexible, thin film photovoltaic modules, has been steadily growing towards the consumer market, and has now decided to enter the retail store market in Colorado. The company--which started life as a developer of solar technology, but has since expanded into consumer electronics accessories and chargers--said it will launch its first retail locations around the area, including at Denver International Airport, Boulder, Aurora, and the Red Rocks amphitheater. Ascent Solar has launched a line of solar and battery chargers under the EnerPlex name. The retail move and products are a far cry from the company's original business licensing thin film solar to building integrated photovoltaic products developers.
