Cirrus Logic, a developer of analog and digital signal processing chips, said today that it is shutting down it Tucson, Arizona location, and moving its team to Austin. Cirrus said its motor control IC team employed 45, and that 20 people have agreed to move to Austin, Texas, with approximately 25 employees "no longer with the company." Cirrus said it would vacate its Tucson facility by December 31st. Cirrus said that the decision to close the Tucson office was "not one we made lightly" since it "disrupts the lives of our hard-working employees." However, the company said it decided to make the move to strengthen the focus and maximize product development efficiency of the group.
