OPX Biotechnologies, the developer of renewable chemical and fuels technology, said Monday that it has named Earl Douglas as its new Vice President and General Counsel. Douglas joins from BioMimetic Therapeutics, and also had previously served at Spinal Dynamics Corp. and Smith & Nephew, Inc. Douglas also has served at a number of law firms as a patent attorney. OPX Biotechnologies said the move will help provide expertise in intellectual property, business development, and financing transactions. OPX is venture backed by Altira Group, Braemar Energy Ventures, DBL Investors, Mohr Davidow Ventures, US Renewables Group, Wolfensohn Capital Partners, and X/Seed Capital, with more than $64M in investments in the company.
