Wowza Gets Funding
Evergreen, Colorado-based Wowza Media Systems, a developer of media server software aimed at helping service providers deliver streaming live video, video demand, and video chat services, said Tuesday that it has received a minority investment round from Summit Partners. Size of the invesment was not disclosed. As part of the funding, the company said that Greg Goldfarb of Summit Partners has joined th company's board. Wowza, which was founded by David Stubenvoll and Charlie Good, was founded in 2005. The firm said it is profitable, and will use the funding to expand its offerings and for growth.
