Wowza Deploys On Google Cloud
Evergreen, Colorado-based media server and streaming software provider Wowza announced this morning that it has deployed its software to Google's Compute Engine service. Wowza said it will offer Wowza Media Server on the Google cloud service, as a new Google Cloud Partner. The move means that customers can deploy Wowza's software through a cloud install, rather than having to deploy the software and their own hardware in-house. Wowza's software is used to deliver streaming media, including via such protocols as Apple HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), Adobe HTTP Dynamic Streaming (HDS), Microsoft Smooth Streaming and MPEG Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH). Wowza said the service is available under the "bring-your-own-license" arrangement, which means users will have to own or buy a license from Wowza directly to activate those instances.
