First Solar Reaches Production Milestone
Tempe, Arizona-based First Solar, the developer of thin-film, photovoltaic modules for the solar power industry, reported this week that it has reached a total of 5 gigawatts (GW) of capacity produced, enough to power 2.5 million homes. The solar capacity is the equivalent of 66 million solar modules. The total is since First Solar began production in 2002.
