Utah Firms Win $1.25M Robotic Competition
Two Salt Lake City-based firms reported today that they have won a $1.25M prize as part of a robotic vehicle competition for the Department of Defense. According to Kairos Autonomi and Autonomous Solutions, they were the integrators for Team UXOD Automation, the winner of a Robotic Range Clearance Competition held recently in Wyoming. The firms' vehicles were used to clear vegetation and surfaces, map areas, and conduct subsurface clearing related to unexploded ordinance on munitions ranges. According to the company, the competition was sponsored by the The Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD), in collaboration with the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army.
