Eight Area Teams Selected For Robotic Race Visits
Eight area teams have been selected for the next stage of the self-navigating, robotic vehicle race sponsored by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, DARPA. The DARPA Grand Challenge said Friday that it has selected 53 teams to advance in the next step of the robot race, including six firms in the region. The robotic race offers a prize to robotic vehicles which can navigate an urban course unaided by humans, and will be held in November. Among the area firms selected by DARPA were Team Autonomous Solutions from Young Ward, Utah; A Bunch of Dropout from Kingman, Arizona; BYUC in Provo, Utah; Team Juggernaut from Santa, Utah; Mojavation from Grand Junction, Colorado; Team Scorpion from Tucson, Arizona; Team Urbanator from Littleton, Colorado; and the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
