Salt Lake City-based mediaFORGE, which provides online advertising retargeting technology, said earlier this week that it has added new HTML advertising support to its technology. The firm, which is headed by Tony Zito, said the new support helps it apply its technology to mobile devices, including tablets and smartphones. The firm's retargeting technology previously only worked on Flash, which is not widely supported on mobile devices and tablets. Advertising retargeting technology like that provided by mediaFORGE tracks where users have been visiting, and allows advertisers to "re-target" their ads to prior website visitors and shoppers. The ads are often used to spur people to complete purchases at e-commerce sites.
