Control4, the developer of home automation products, looks to be getting some new competition: Google. At Google's developer conference, Google I/O Tuesday, Google demonstrated a new effort--Android @ Home--which looks to apply its Android Operating system to the home automation market. Google demonstrated the use of Android to control a wirelessly connected light bulb from LightingScience. The LED bulb was shown being dimmed and controlled by an Android application. Control4 develops similar products, which can be controlled by Control4's controllers, software, and its own, mobile app for iPhone or iPad.
