Denver-based
Alpine Access, which provides virtual contact center services to companies, announced today that it has opened up a new Canadian subsidiary, which will be based in Calgary. As part of the new international expansion, the firm said it plans to hire more than 600 employees in Canada. Alpine Access said it has extended into Canada in part because of a signing of a multi-year contract with what it says is Canada's largest provider of wireless and data communications services. Alpine Access provides virtual contact centers, managing employees who work at home as part of a virtual call center. The firm is using the cost benefits of having workers operating from their home offices to counter low cost call center outsourcers based overseas; the firm explained that its new Canadian employees will help in the "strong cultural affinity" it says is necessary for high quality service.
