Sorenson Media, the developer of video encoding and decoding software which has major operations in Salt Lake, said today that it has licensed its software to Comtrend Corporation. Sorenson said its product will be used in a line of set top boxes for Swiss Telecom, to allow those boxes to play videos available on the Internet. Financial details of the licensing deal were not announced by the company.
