Sorenson Media, the developer of video encoding and decoding software which has its major engineering operations in Salt Lake, said today that it has been selected by LG to provide its video decoder in LG's line of mobile phones. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Sorenson said the license will allow LG's mobile devices to access videos on the internet. Sorenson said its Sorenson Spark codec is the most widely deployed video codec on the Internet.
